Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station opened on 1 July 2010 and is one of the largest railway hubs in Asia, located in Minhang District at the western edge of central Shanghai, just 500 meters from Terminal 2 of Hongqiao Airport. The station covers over 1.3 million square meters, with 16 platforms and 30 lines split between high-speed and regular-speed services, sitting at the intersection of the Shanghai–Hangzhou, Shanghai–Nanjing, and Beijing–Shanghai high-speed railways. It's directly connected to Shanghai Metro Lines 2, 10, and 17, a bus terminal, and the airport itself, forming the core of the wider Hongqiao transportation hub.
